Scheduled Water Supply Auto-Fill
Automated filling for unpredictable municipal supply — window scheduling, dry-run detection, and smart retries.
Built for intermittent municipal supply
In many Delhi-NCR and municipal areas, water arrives in rough windows — not at a fixed clock time. Waiting by the tank wastes hours, and missing the window means an empty tank until the next cycle. Scheduled Water Supply Auto-Fill watches your configured windows, detects when water is actually flowing, and retries until the tank fills or the window ends.
Accurate time is required for windows. The mobile app sets clock over BLE when you connect; WiFi and NTP are optional enhancements, not required for core scheduling.
Key features
Time-window scheduling
Configure up to two daily windows (e.g. 4–7 AM and 5–7 PM) when supply is expected.
Dry-run detection
Knows when the motor runs but no water is flowing — avoids false “full tank” assumptions.
Smart retries
Retries at configurable intervals (15–60 min) with a max attempt count per window.
Fill thresholds
Start filling below ~20% and stop near full (~95%) to protect the pump and tank.
Offline-first
Runs on the coordinator with BLE control — cloud optional; time set via mobile app on connect.
Daily statistics
Track successful fills, dry-run events, and retries from the HomeSense dashboard.
How it works
- 1
Set your supply windows
Enter when municipal water usually arrives in your colony or MCD zone.
- 2
Window opens — check level
When a window starts, the system checks tank level and whether filling is needed.
- 3
Detect water or dry-run
If the motor runs but level does not rise, it waits and retries inside the window.
- 4
Stop when full or window ends
Filling stops at the high threshold, or the window closes after max retries.
How this differs from threshold auto-fill
Compare with Single Tank Auto-Fill
| This app | Single Tank Auto-Fill | |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger | Time windows + dry-run inside each window | Water level crosses min/max thresholds anytime |
| Best for | MCD / municipal supply with unpredictable timing | Steady borewell or on-demand filling |
| Retries | Scheduled retries until window exhausted | Immediate threshold-based start/stop |
| Clock required | Yes — RTC set via mobile app (BLE); WiFi optional | No — level-only logic |
Frequently asked questions
Do I need WiFi for window scheduling?
No. The app is offline-first: your phone sets the device clock over Bluetooth when you connect. WiFi is only needed if you want optional SNTP or cloud features.
How is this different from Single Tank Auto-Fill?
Single Tank Auto-Fill reacts to water level anytime. Scheduled Water Supply Auto-Fill is built for areas where water only flows during municipal windows — it retries inside those windows when supply is late or intermittent.
What happens if water never arrives in a window?
The system retries until max retries is reached, then marks the window exhausted and sends an alert. You can adjust windows, retry interval, and max retries in settings.
How many devices do I need?
A minimal setup uses a level sensor plus motor controller (2 devices). A standard HomeSense setup adds a Zigbee coordinator (3 devices) for distributed sensor and actuator placement.
